The Venue
Simon’s at Groot Constantia comprises of the restaurant and the private function venue.
It is possible to accommodate tour groups and smaller bookings in the restaurant. Should the intended group be in excess of 20 people, a set menu, derived from the a la carte menu, would be required. Should such a booking be accepted by Simon’s, confirmation would only be secured once the signed confirmation sheet is returned to the Function Manager and receipt is acknowledged. All set menus (restaurant and private function venue) have to be paid for no later than seven days prior to the booking. This payment is non refundable.
The function venue at Simon’s seats 180 people with no dancing and 150 people with a dance floor.
The venue hire is R12 000.00. The signed Terms and condition together with proof of payment must be sent to the function coordinator within 2 weeks of provisional booking in order to secure your booking. This fee is non-refundable.
The selection of the menu and final numbers of guests attending the function must be made and relayed to the Function Manager at least two weeks prior to the booking. The non refundable payment for the food in full (+10% service charge) needs to be made and proved one week prior to the booking in order for us to honour your reservation. The menu price excludes beverages.
The function venue has limited availability of tables, chairs, table-cloths, napkins and glasses. These are available for use during a function. Any further hiring requirements should be arranged by the client and supplied directly by a service provider.
Simon’s at Groot Constantia has a fully licensed bar and a selected wine list. For wines provided by a function client, we charge a corkage fee of R45.00 per bottle of wine, R65.00 per bottle of Champagne and sparkling wine. A 10% service charge is added to all beverage bills including corkage. All final payment must be settled on the evening of the function or by 10am the following morning. Alternatively, the final payment will be deducted off the credit card in terms of the required credit card authorisation form.
Flower arrangements, table decorations, candles, music or décor are not included in the venue hire charge and we recommend that you refer to Simons preferred suppliers list under the Terms and Conditions.
The venue closing time for a lunch function is 16H30, and 00h00 for an evening function.
Should a provisional booking be made, the date will be held for two weeks, after which the venue fee is required to secure the booking.
It should be noted that it is a requirement of Groot Constantia Estate that no signage be allowed on the estate.
