On arrival you are greeted by stately old oak avenues leading up to elegant buildings.

As important as the product of the grape is, the beauty and significance of the architecture.

The Manor House and the buildings grouped around it are unequalled examples of Cape Dutch.

The architecture is both of majesty and simplicity.

The collection of artifacts, furniture and pieces of art, reflects the rich tradition of the Cape.

We offer daily, guided cellar tours, which include a wine tasting.

Tours can be organised outside official times.

Come in for a visit, we are open 7 days a week.

Wines may be tasted and bought at the wine shop, which also houses a gift/souvenir shop and artworks.

Boela Gerber - Winemaker

Mother Nature smiled when she prepared the Constantia Valley for the winemaker.

She bestowed on him the influence of the sun, wind, oceans and fertile soil.

She then challenged him to plant vineyards and make excellent wines.

The owners of Constantia have answered postively for a few centuries, and how could they not?

We have been making wine for over 320 years from the very first vines planted in the Cape.

We have the perfect natural conditions and under the watchful supervision of the finest wine masters

The estate today covers an area of 170 hectares, of which 90 hectares comprise of vineyards.

There are 9 types of soil, Glenrosa, Clovelly, Hutton and Oakleigh to name a few.

Exciting new vineyards are being established and stunning, world-challenging wines are on offer.

Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Pinotage are our main varietals.

In every wine, the legend still lives.

The flagship of the Estate is called Gouverneurs Reserve and Grand Constance.

There are walks to various viewpoints. Picnic baskets can be ordered from the Restaurants.
