This year Groot Constantia celebrated its 320th birthday which was attended by dignitaries from national and local government, business people,media and people in the wine industry.

The guest speaker was Themba Wakashe, acting deputy general in the department of arts and culture, a great lover of Groot Constantia wines and the Estate. The MC for the evening was TV presenter Charlene Truter who with her charismatic personality also explained of her time with the magnificent Libertas Choir that sang for us.

On the 19th October we held a function for the opening of the new maturation cellar worth a visit, with its magnificent impression, and thereafter some of the top wine writers visited the Manor House for the launch of the Grand Constance the wine that made Groot Constantia world famous some 200 year’s ago.

Jonkershuis will be opening its doors again from the 15th December, with a versatile Cape Malay influence, it will also be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
