Groot Constantia’s Gouverneurs Reserve White 2017 achieved an impressive 91 points in the seventh annual Sauv-Sem Blend/Wooded Sauvignon Blanc Report produced by Winemag.co.za, and was awarded a certificate as a Top Performer.

There were 29 blend entries from 24 producers in this years competition and these were blind tasted by a three-person panel of expert judges – chaired by Christiaan Eedes, editor of Winemag.co.za, accompanied by Roland Peens and James Pietersen. Ratings were done according to the 100-point system and final scores were awarded on the basis of discussion and re-tasting where necessary.

Winemag.co.za has undertaken a detailed examination of the two sub-categories of Sauvignon Blanc on an annual basis since 2013 and award the best examples of Sauvignon Blanc to be had in South Africa.

Groot Constantia’s Gouverneurs Reserve White 2017 is no stranger to accolades and recently achieved a five star rating in the 2020 edition of the popular Platter’s South African Wine Guide – annually one of the most eagerly anticipated listings of top-performing wines.
